About Assay
We take a token apart: who holds the supply, how much is locked and where it moves, how the derivatives market is positioned, and how price and volume behave. Every finding links to a source you can check.
Every finding is sourced
On-chain facts link to a block explorer; exchange data names its source and time, so readers can check.
Facts are typed
What was read directly, what was derived, what a third party claims, and what is still unknown are marked apart.
No price calls
Reports describe structure and data. They give no trading advice and infer no one's intent.
What we do
Assay takes a token apart: who holds the supply, how much is still locked, who can move it, where tokens came from and went, and how the derivatives market and price action are structured. Reports compile public chain and exchange data so a reader can understand a token in a few minutes.
How to read a report
A report opens with three key points, what the data does not show and what is still unknown. It then keeps the present apart from past events: key figures as of the data time, and dated recent events with how many days ago they happened. Chapters follow by topic: supply, control, flows, market, checks and unknowns. Each chapter starts with a few plain sentences on what was found, and technical detail such as function lists comes last. Key figures are continuous values shown against all perpetual-listed tokens; there are no scores or traffic-light ratings.
Fact types
Observed facts are read directly from a chain or exchange; derived facts are computed or inferred from what was read; reported facts come from third parties and are checked against the chain; unknowns are listed explicitly.
Series, versions and corrections
Some reports run as a series for a while. Each update is a new version at a permanent link that never overwrites the old one, and opens with what changed since the previous version: new findings, changed figures, and what is no longer found. Found an error? Write to corrections@assay.news; confirmed corrections are noted on the page.
Not investment advice
Assay does not predict price direction, give trading advice or infer anyone's intent. Addresses whose identity is not established are marked unknown.
